the statement

off to the potle. gonna read a ton of material i have on writing personal statements. think i might somehow do a snowboarding theme incorporated into my college years. sounds really gay but i think i can make it work. it will be very hard to get it good, but it's possible. may have to write a backup letter in case this turns out all wrong. turned off my cell. don't feel like talking to anyone for the next few days. people know how to email. gonna try something different today. usually switch between chicken soft tacos and chicken burrito.

ankle, first time -> mom, cu
every other week -> job, every semester
no sports, nothing, good though -> qwest
stott -> public defender, both degrees
wanted to go somewhere at qwest. wasn't my nitch.
ct for criminals. who was i to defend? so fascinated, went for double. why not?
ankle. and that would be a skier toppling over me.
end with...one more run. can't wait for the next season to begin.
running maybe?
constituent letters -> pub defend. medicare/aid cuts.
wife -> new challenges on slopes.
trumpet?
i want to go to your school.
tenacity: mrs. uribe
i have no idea. i hope it works. first, i sleep.
...
all of a sudden working out is no longer a priority. could just be because of the three day weekend. might head up to nyc for thanksgiving. if that doesn't work out i could just take an east coast hard rock tour. i'm also starting to drink more and more soda. gonna stop that right after i finish this coke.
...
i lost my pen somewhere in the white house visitors center. lost so many others, i'm surprised i haven't lost parker. jared has been in boston the past two nights and it has been so nice. finished, or wrote i should say, my personal statement. haven't read it though to see if it's good or not. started the snowboard one and totally nixed that idea. it was sucking bad.

i want the night and day contacts. i want contacts. age of empires III looks so amazing. i wish i liked those types of games though. so far, every one of those coca-cola refreshing film makers winner movies suck. cheaper by the dozen 2: never saw the first one. about time jim carrey is out with another movie. i'll see it. used to watch aeon flux on mtv and theron is hot. i'm down. spielberg can put out a movie about donkey crap and i'd see it. munich is no exception. i'll see king kong not because it's peter jackson, but because it's jb.

Jarhead (2005): i can only picture tom's dad. i love that guy. pretty funny. weak plot. i like the john malkovich looking character. jaime foxx is great. the narration totally outdoes the rest of the script. i'd like to know how accurate their behavior is. amazing cinematography. it should be nominated but it prolly won't. pretty decent music. but as far as o.p.p., i didn't know a single person who knew all the words to that song like the entire platoon did. i was impressed. worth buying i think because the makers really accomplished what they set out to do. makes me want to join the marines. not! also gives very good props to the great war classics.
...
just left an xbox 360 demo with the xbox chief. sounds expensive and the one game they showed was amazing, but wasn't anything to really show off the graphics. some race car game. looks like for the graphics to really be at their prime, you need an hd tv. only 250 old xbox games are compatible with the new console, and that's only after downloading some software to make them work. the massive two flat panel tv's they were using weren't working right and kept going in and out. i'm sure they'll sell a ton, but i'll stick with my pc.

dwight d, the statue for kansas. however, he was born in denison, texas. there you will also find the qwest voice messaging outsourced call center in an old walmart. what a trip that was. Posted by Picasa

the ski and snowboard exposition

my stomach still hurts from yesterday. last few days i have eaten dinner before my run, which usually makes for a more difficult run and a stomach ache afterward. last night it really hurt. not sure if this morning's delicious donut, courtesy of will, will add or subtract to my aches and pains. we are celebrating because he got a perfect score in verbal last night on the gre. he wants to go to uva (so would i), meaning he'll have to leave his job here, meaning...hmm...

anyone know anything about the new basel 2 capital accords? in a hearing and that's the subject. they are speaking a foreign language to me. this guy next to me think i'm taking notes on what this witness is saying. whenever i write, he glances over and then writes on his paper.

google earth is a dream come true. expo opens at 12 so i'm grabbing a bite to eat first. first time i had wendy's since living here. yesterday was a really tough day for me. i didn't puss out and start crying, but it was hard nonetheless. it's difficult to even think about it all. even harder to actually have a conversation with k about it. she is always extremely optimistic about everything. "it'll all work out and everything will be okay" is what i can picture her saying. and what if it doesn't? i look at all the other interns and they are set. mikel will probably get the deputy press secretary job in hatch's office. brak is just the type who is destined for good things because he is such a doer. candice just gets whatever she wants from her family and her husband will have no trouble taking care of her. and emily is still so young and already she has this internship on the hill. and maybe they have more hardships than i realize, but this is all what it seems like to me. we've invested so much time and money into me getting into law school. and i'm such a stingy bastard when it comes to wasting money. hopefully i'll start the letter this weekend even though i still have little direction of where to go with it. do i bring up the lsat score? (no, i don't have a score yet but i know what it will be) should i focus on the internship? family? snowboarding? kidding. i have zero, count them, zero extra curricular activities. i'm not active in any clubs, don't feed homeless, build homes, tutor, or give my time to anyone. my stomach hurt like a bitch all day yesterday too. carried over from the night before. i did get to see senator clinton outside my office for a minute and i was star struck. it's time. off to the expo.
...
been a good day so far. expo was pretty good. crappy booths, but the warren miller movie was amazing. i don't mind admitting how much of a newbie i am to the sport, so i first heard of him last year. lots of catching up to do. can't even wait though to get back on the lifts. picked up a few dvds so i'm stoked like no other. also got two free lift tickets to bryce and one of three others out here. who knows if they'll be good or if there will even be snow, but i'm keeping my fingers crossed. now at the air and space museum hanger over at dulles. highlights include a concorde, space shuttle enterprise, sr71 blackbird, and the enola gay. the enola gay. currently in line to go up a control tower. 165' high. will be able to see the planes coming into dulles.

well that was neat. lots of trees. lots of planes. what if i just never open my lsat score when i get it? i wish it was tomorrow so i could just get it done with. i guess if i don't know my score, i don't know where to apply to. i'm sure i can figure out where i'll be applying without much difficulty. i'm starting to really think about kids too. air and space hanger doesn't have enough hands on stuff. i guess that is what the one on the mall is for, but there is an air traffic control exhibit and it's pretty lame.

the schedule

wife is now in minneapolis. why, I do not know. the president of iceland had a meeting with the boss today a few doors down. always cool to see swarms of cops and bomb dogs.
...
today has been so busy. 9 to about 12 was a committee hearing with all the oil execs. 12-1 was some chinese television luncheon. 1-2 phones. 2-4 was a judicial subcommittee on the constitutional amendment for marriage, which passed by the way and will now go to the full committee. finally i work on letter crap. the apartments had cleaning checks last week which were total bullshit. oh yeah, i let the usu lady know. we scored like 50.1%. it was the homo eric from upstairs who is slightly retarded when it comes to seeing if something is clean or not. he's the "r.a." who basically does nothing and gets cheap rent.
...
end of day with nothing but a headache to show for it. natalie h made a good point today that probably the worst thing terrorists could do it simultaneously set off car bombs on the bridges that lead into the district. not sure if it would completely shut down the government like she says, but would sure slow it down for quite some time. i was able to check off seventeen senators today between both hearings. still not even halfway there though. kinda started late in the game.

starting to not even care about exercising now. been running for almost a year straight, and i'd be lying if i said i can really see results from it. and why set all these stupid goals for running and riding? i have no desire to run a marathon. running from sf to boston would be cool some day, however i doubt i'd ever have the time, $, or ability to carry it out. plus there would be no way to keep the ipod running that whole time. i've been fat, or chubby, or had a gut, or whatever you want to call it my whole life. i think my body just wasn't designed to be flat like most other guys. after all the running i've done, even my legs are still big.

i realized today, well, i've known for sometime but was reaffirmed today, that so much time is wasted in the senate. the marriage amendment is sure not to pass. there is no question from both sides. yet years are spent going through subcommittees and committees hashing it out. then we will waste a day of floor time debating it and having the futile vote. senator ensign had an amendment today that states congress believes that no chemical weapons are used during any riots in the u.s. by police. that is all it does. who cares is what i say. if i were senator, i would just stand there in protest and not vote. then if retards later on cry about me not supporting it, i'd tell them my constituents deserve me to not waste their time with useless legislation. voting yes or no to this crap does nothing, so not voting would be more beneficial in my eyes than any yay or nay.

managed to get one of my lowest lsat scores ever on this week's practice test. go me. and my nose itches. almost as bad as getting that score. i hate when my nose itches because it never stops. not sure why i'm so stupid and can't figure this lsat thing out. maybe it really is an indication that law school is not for me. so at this point i don't know what to do. well i know what i will do, but it's just going to suck. school and exams have generally always been a walk in the park for me. this is a nice reality check i suppose. one month from now i'll be waiting for my score. one month from now i'll probably be getting around to actually posting this. two months from now i will have hopefully wrapped up applying to basically all the community college law schools out there. three months, and everyday will include a dreaded walk to get the mail so i can open rejection letters. oh yeah, while busting my ass with seventeen credits for two degrees that i'm not sure will be any use. by the way, spring schedule will be:
LEGL 3890 - Certified Legal Assistant Preparation
LEGL 2300 - Computerized Legal Research
LEGL 2000 - Culture of Law
CJ 4990 - Criminal Justice Senior Seminar
CJ 4880 - Qualitative Research Methods in Criminal Justice
CJ 3270 - Criminology
i'd go drown in my sorrows, but those rejection letters will cost me anywhere between $40 and $70 bones a piece. and it's a work night. no work friday though. there is a ski/board convention this weekend so i'll prolly hit that up friday. everyone here has really hyped down the east coast resorts, but i am still determined to take a snow day before all is said and done. i'm going running now. screw the gym. i'm a true blue outdoor runner. like i said earlier on this wonderful evening, it's pointless, however i do enjoy it for some demented reason. my luck i'll be hit by a range rover or something.

the upset

i do have such a good life. one might be so bold to say i am truly blessed. but i still get so sad. there is something really wrong with that.

miami's defense is just blowing away vick. glad i'm not a ucla fan though. horrible, horrible for them. this game is a joke now.
...
mount vernon is very lovely. washington was an extremely lucky man. probably a ton of work though. and the fall colors don't get better than this. went with natalie cook from work which was okay i guess. just added more places for me to get lost trying to get from and to her place. better than going alone i suppose. finally at ted's montana grill. amazing menu. i seem to get treated very different than i would if i were with others. not only here, but noticeably everywhere else too. i'm about ready to go home. still have another month and a half though. mom will be here in two weeks which i'm actually really excited for. the lady would die to see mt. vernon. trees will probably be all dead by then, so unfortunately she won't get the same effect.

two nights ago had an interesting late night excursion through the streets of dc. involves a place called five, a girl named candice, a guy named jack, dancing, and an early morning line for tree lighting tickets. it was a long night.

i really want to see a movie tonight. saw 2? jarhead? we'll see. thanksgiving is coming. i'm sure k won't be here and i don't know if i want to go home. i know there will be options out here with this person or that, but why do i have to go and eat at someone's? it's just dinner. why can't we all get together next week and do dinner? i'd probably rather go to chipotle or something, even though everyone will just feel sorry for me if i were to do that. probably the only reason i will end up eating with people is to please them so they don't feel bad. seems like the wrong reasons to get with people for thanksgiving. it's not like these people are family though. like i think i've said before, most aren't even friends, but acquaintances. ended up getting the montana bison burger. had cheddar, bbq, ham, and delicious bison. fries excellente and drinks are always good. not happy they charged me for a side of bbq, but overall i was impressed. nice early 20's cali-western feel to it.

how does fiddy have a new song out each week?

i'm being very irresponsible right now. should be at home doing the usual laundry, working out, and getting ready for another week of work. instead i'm waiting for my 6:40 movie to start. p.s. also stuffing my face with an icee and m&m's.

this place tells you to turn off your cell phone 4 times before the movie starts. kiss kiss bang bang looks kinda hokey. unless i hear great things about it, prolly won't go for it. stole kill bill music too. usher? no thanks. underworld evolution looks okay, but that means i'd have to see the first, which looked gay. so no. slither?!?! won't make more than $20 million, if that. final destination 3 is worthless, unless you want to see more stupid ways to die. hostel looks good.

Saw 2 (2005): here we go. i always regret scary movies. i saw the cameraman's reflection, hinting that they rushed to throw this movie together. i hate bad/unrealistic police procedures, and this movie is loaded with them. i don't understand why cancer man would bring back the druggy since she passed the first test. kind of jacked up since she was one of the few that was successful and followed his rules. okay well that answers that question. needles needles needles. for once i can't even bare to watch. seriously feel like puking. the wahlbergs are great. i'm more keen on marky mark, but donny is good too. too many squirmy moments. it's good, but too much over acting as well. stick with the first one. the end scenes suck. movies like this should be made so we have to watch them over again. we don't need such an expansive recap. don't see. and when the third one comes out, don't see that either. [end of ryan's notebook]
